How Your Squirrel Trapping Will Work
First we will have to stop by and take a look outside. In most cases, it is not necessary for us to enter the home. If you are not sure if you have squirrels or another form of wildlife, you will want to schedule a Pest Diagnostic Service. Click here to learn how to diagnose attic noises.
Otherwise, let us know and we will pop over to give you an affordable cost estimate. Generally, squirrel removal services average 600$. See below for our “starting at prices”.
Traps will be placed over the entry point outside. That way, any squirrels in your attic will have to exit into the trap. These vermin can only stay inside for about a week. So after that point, you will know there are no more squirrels in your attic. Traps are then removed and the entry point is secured by placing sheet metal over it.
One thing you do not want, is to block the squirrels inside by not placing the trap over the entry point. This must be done for 5-7 days before blocking the entry hole. If you don’t hire the right wildlife company, you could end up having a frantic squirrel running around in your living room.
Another thing to avoid, is blocking the squirrels outside of their home. If you do, you run the risk of them tearing up your home trying to get back inside. Out of desperation, they can even go down your chimney- and into your basement. This is an avoidable nightmare. So in conjunction with setting a trap over the entry point, a trap has to be placed nearby on the roof. This will catch any that were outside when we placed the trap over the entry point.
